Got this 5 months ago. Initial thoughts: over priced but at least looks good. Paint not truly black but has an odd reddish-brown tint. At least it's not noticeable under the seat. But now 5k miles later, it's cracked and I don't think it's repairable. I didn't realize the front part hits the bottom of the battery box every time the rear suspension bottoms, which eventually caused the right side to break. The section that bolts behind the brake hose clamp is now totally separated from the rest of the hugger. Now, only the front bolt directly behind the shock, and the 2 chain guard bolts hold it down. Bike is stock 2013 Versys, OEM shock, no lowering kit. Daily commuter, street-only. Big disappointment for the price. 1st pic from right side. 2nd pic from left side. Hard to photograph so I apologize for the crummy pics. (Posted on 2015-11-18)

My first impression on receiving this was "I paid $160 for a hunk of molded plastic?"
Having installed it, however, I think you're largely paying for the custom-fitted product rather than the material itself.

The installation was fast and easy, easier than any of the other half dozen add-ons I've attached to my Versys. You barely need the instructions here (but read 'em first anyway).

Once it's on, the hugger looks as great as you see in the pictures. I pointed it out to someone and they were surprised that it was a custom part at all - really looks at home.

I'll assume for now it also does the job it's supposed to (keeping the underside of the bike clean) and if not I'll update this review. (Posted on 2014-09-08)

I really liked to look of this hugger. It's well made and keeps under the seat clean. (Posted on 2013-11-27)
