New for 2010, Barkbusters presents their Variable Section 28mm diameter handlebar. The bars are 22mm (7/8") at the grips/control perches, with an immediate taper to 28mm for the majority of the bar. This kit includes a bike-specific riser/converter for the Triumph Tiger 1050. No change of cables or controls necessary. Silver.This kit provides a more "dirtbike"-style flatter handlebar. The new riding position provides more forward lean and decreased wrist bend. Recommended for technical street or track twisty riding, especially for tall riders with long arms. This handlebar is not recommended for those seeking a more casual upright riding position for long-distance highway riding or for riders with short arms.
The plastic locator nub on the interior of the bike's clamp-on control housings must be trimmed off to use this handlebar kit.

This product will be different for different people. I'm 6 ft 3 and 220ish. Long arms and legs. I purchased my tiger 1050 for a second bike to teach my teenage son on. We are about the same size other than my extra 40 lbs of girth. The stock bar look like they came off a HD Sportster and they felt like a cruiser. At full throatle my wrist wound end up at awkward angle with stock bars. New bars address all of my issues with the stock setup and give a sportier stance and feel. For me, stretching out my arms and leaning forward is much better than stocks laid back style. In fact, I will probably take out an inch on the risers for a little more lean angle.
Bars are doubled so the ID is much smaller than most, so bar ends have to ground down to fit or purchase new. With some minor fab work i was able to reuse stock guards and bar ends. Hated look and feel of stock heated grips so i ended up swapping them to oxford sports...much better as well.
The bad for me; the stock mirrors have to go now as I'm out of adjusments with my height and new positions. Going with above handles bar end mirrors to fix it. Second issue is at full lock the handguards hit the windscreen. I need to notch out about .5 to 1 inch on both sides. If I had to do it over I would purcahse bars and risers separately to get the bar an inch lower overall. All in all, good upgrade visually and performance wise. (Posted on 15-02-26)
